£150 What to buy ??

  172 Ph2 Flamer
I have about £150 to spend on some new speakers got HU and amp just need some decent speakers what can you guys/gals recommend ?? :)

  Ph1 172 + Combo van
you can get pioneer components for the front which are about £70 then some decent coaxials for the rear for that price. maybe better components for the front to fill your budget.

  No wheels :(
Sub FTW :)

Makes all Music sound so much better, richer and deeper...

Well, If you go for Quality that is :)

Cheers, Sam

You say you don't require/want a sub, because of this i would be inclined to opt for components up front and 6x9s in the shelf, (or under it).....

The Alpines you linked to are meant for use in conjunction with a sub really, (hence the fairly high lower freq response of 70hz), also the sensitivity is a little low for such a small amp.....

The Infinity 'Kappa' you linked to are a better bet, unfortunately these can sound rather bright/harsh but will play much louder than the Alpines due to higher sensitivity and a lower impedance of 2ohm, obviously this will drag more performance from your Sony amp, but installation is more critical, (mids need a sealed deadened door to perform well & tweeter placement needs to be spot on to avoid or rather cut down on harshness).....

The Rainbows linked to previously are without doubt the best alternative so far, but again even these will require decent installation to get the best results......couple these with Rainbow 6x9s for a little low end and you should be almost there......

but, as previously stated, for best results you require a sub of some description, so whichever way you go its going to be compromised in some way....

thanks for advice i dont know alot about audio at all with the 2ohm and 70hz dont mean sh1t to me lol i really dont want a sub just a decent set up who ever had car before has put sony speakers in the front so will stick them in the back and want a decent set of comps for the front with a good sound and bass what would you recommend ?

What is the Amp that you have?

You could always get an Active Bass Box for under the seat instead of a sub in the boot.

Is your limit £150 for the entire thing?

where's the problem with running low passed 6x9s suitably mounted in/under a decent parcel shelf.....he doesn't want a sub, so imo the 6x9s is the next best thing......

Rainbows best posted so far, with the infinity a close second.
Anything sony, vibe, alpine are quality but remember your paying for a brand not performance.
I.e. £120 spent on infinity a lot better than £120 spent on vibe!
