£30 fine for fog lights - f*ck off!!

  2003 1.2 16v Dynamique

We all say police are f*cking c*nts with a f*cking clue...

But tonight they proved that to me, £30 for incorrect use of front fog lamps??

As if I wasnt amazed enough some tw*t in another car wheelspun past with his on, front and rear!!

Sorry to have a rant but have they not got better things to do? Like find murderers and sh*t, not doing 18 year old for accidentally leaving their fog lights on!! It f*cking rediculous!!

Sorry, just needed to get that all out...

what do you expect, you cant moan, you got caught doing something that is illegal

take the fine, and learn your lesson

fogs piss me off though, should jus be a warnin but simple dont use em full stop as they look crap any way

traffic police are to deal with traffic so technically doin there jobs

If thats the case, then thats unlucky. And i agree its a bit petty.

However the idiots that drive round with them on in the daylight need all thats coming to them. Im sure Xsara Picassos must have them wired in to the ignition...

mine has a nice bright light on the dash board telling me ive got them on! maybe yours is missing this feature mate?

Im a big lad and my seating position + the streeling wheel adjustment means that they a are blocked from my view unless I move... Otherwise the bright light would have indicated to me that I had them on and I would have turned them off!!

  Clio

yer i had a 30 squid fine in ma tomcat 4 that

i did actully forget they were on but the cop just said YER SURE U DID HERES UR TICKET I SUJEST U PAY IT!!!!!!

mines at the side of the rev counter in clear view. maybe they relocated yours to a different position?

for the record, ive been stopped for the same offence before and was just told to switch em off. This was just after i got the car and i didnt even know how to switch them off! lol

Big lad !!!

Holy Moly you must be fookin huge if your belly hides the lights on your dash !!!!

A Clio is not the car for you then !

Or they should just fit a light meter of some sort that detects fog, then retards cant leave them on/drive with the rear ones at night etc.

Fogs are one thing that really piss me off.

Sorry Rory, but fog lights being used when there is no fog is a nuisance. Rear ones are dangerous as they look like brake lights.

I suspect the cops saw the 182, new plates and that was it, you were targetted. A Mk2 escort would probably have got away with it.

My 2 cents anyway

So youve never owned a Xsara Picasso then ;) Fine car apart from the lights ... headlights + fogs and you can still only just about see where youre going :( Truly abysmal headlights! Dont think typical Picasso driver is going for the sporty fog-lights look ... tho I did rag the car to squeeze every bit of sportiness out of it

Cause you didnt know they were on, how did they get on in the first place? Its not exactly been foggy lately. ;)

I only ever use my f.fogs (when it aint foggy) to flash people at night etc, much less blinding than f.beam.

Yeah if you werent aware they were on it isnt really an excuse.. but yeah its quite petty, i dont really mind if people have their fog lights on, cant say ive ever been blinded by them.

i got dun!

my stupid fault for having them on! paid fine and never "accidentally" had them on again since!

pay the fine, learn ya lesson and dont have them on again

h3

The thing i find funny is he has to bullsh*t the forum as well as the police, you cant accidentally leave fogs on. You have to switch them on in the first place. It was a fair few months since it was last foggy so there simply is no excuse. :p

It is petty but they stopped you most likely because (silly as it sounds) your car looks more like they were on intentionally at the time and most likely use them every night, more so than say an MPV. Yes its very petty, but they are simply doing a job, deal with it.

Just out of interest I dont think i;d say to a Police Officer "i didnt realise i had them on" - its almost an admission of driving without due care and attention!

A bit OT but why do people insist on having the rear ones on in nose to tail traffic in a built up area when it is foggy?? in my experience the only time theyre of any real benefit is on the motorway where you can then see cars from a greater distance.

i reckon people just think bit of fog woo hoo i can press that button i never normally use

well ricjax99, if you had the facelift 2003 clio you would understand what Im talking about, but as you dont even own the same car as me you could not relate to my point what so ever...

so the only bullsh*tter on here my friend is you... cos you evidentally have no clue about what your talking about...

so think before you open your mouth and make a tw*t out of yourself again

I got done for the same thing!

Foot patrol steped out and stopped me, £30 fine.

Seeing as it was foggy at the time I was gutted! So now I use them as I feel I have payed £30 to use them as I wish!

Its only £30 anyway...

Rory, mate, chill out and dont come on here moaning about how you got done cos youve done something wrong, THATS THE POINT, fog lights are for FOG ONLY, I hate anyone who drives with them on whilst not in fog, and I think that Si172 has a point saying stuff like "I didnt realise they were on" is an admission that you were not fully aware of the condition and situation of your vehicle.

Now chill it and no name calling ........ it dont matter if they started it first or not... this isnt a school playground and you aint kids!

Fair enough, just fustrating as they surely have much more important things to do.

I give my apologies to ricjax99, now lets lock this and say no more about it.

simple, if you drive around with your fogs on you deserve to get fined for it, alot of people say that they didnt know they were on jus imagine how many times the cops have heard that excuse, people put them on because they think its gud when there up your ass with the fogs on saying move out the way i wanna pass doing 80mph in a 30mph, thats just the minority of peeps that do that imo

not saying that you did i rory182;)
