Another vote for Jez, lovely chap!

I just asked him about cloning keys - for lots of cars he can clone an existing key so you don't need the car there. In some cases the remote buttons will not work on a cloned key but the key will unlock the car and start it.

Thats gotten me out of trouble before when I only have one key. I believe lots of Fiats are supplied from the factory that way ie) one remote key one simple key.

However its obviously best to ask Jez for your individual case. Just figured it might be a decent option for cars like your golf @DaveDreads and @Stefan.
