Which was actually faster, 306 Gti-6 or a Xsara VTS
We know which looks the ugliest
But not many people know that they made a quick xsara. Probably as they look like they do!
I set the start and end points by going frame by frame: http://ccgi.pendulum.plus.com/mov.wmvVideoed ...
I've got another video that I've put online (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JCgptvRARE) which is a slightly slower time, but still better than 8.4 seconds!

It takes 7.09 seconds from when the speedo needle moves to when it gets to an indicated 60mph on the speedo, from the perspective of the camera.
We all know speedo's tend to overread, lets say 64mph on the speedo is a true 60mph road speed.

That adds a genuine 1.12 seconds to the time.
So we're at 8.21 seconds now... the book time is 8.4? Now consider the needle will appear further around the dial than it will to you because the camera's mounted at lower down angle...
Personally I think that video you posted shows a 0-60 of about book time, give or take a 200 or 300 milliseconds either way.
It's how you stand by your car not how you race your car.... Iirc!
it should be 30 to 90 drop from third to second take it 7500 rpm greenlight comes on change back up to third ..then it cuts out if you doing this in fourth lol if ya hang on to the revs in fourth..
My car can do 60-100 quicker than a Clio can do 0-60. True story.
Huh?
the shift light comes on and the revs die for a few seconds
Shift light? Its a clio, not a race car.
maybe its a warning light lol looks like a green gear stick lit up when redlined
No there is a shift light bottom right of dash
i thought the shift light was more a warning that your about to hit the limiter rarther than best point to change gear lol

Old debate. Renault call it the ''optimal shift light'' iirci think that is a shift light so you change gear at the max?

Old debate. Renault call it the ''optimal shift light'' iirc
The limiter is to protect the engine, not the light
I used that Dyno iphone app, I know it's not exact but it beeped when my speedo read about 62mph so I assume it's not too far off, and it said 0-60 was 6.38 seconds. I assume it's probably generous by a couple of tenths but for a free app it's cool
