around town you wont notice a difference infact the 8v feels a bit quicker due to cable throttle being more responsive and better low down torque.
over 3,000rpm tho the 16v is quicker, i love my little 1.2 16v even now that im used to the 2.0 16v 172
No way. I've owned both, the 8v in a MkI Ph III which has the same engine, and the valver is miles quicker even around town. I can confidently pull out when there is a tight gap at a roundabout now for example.
And stop knocking the 1.2s! They're damn good cars for us young'uns and lighter and as powerful as most 1.4s in 16v form
