Just out of interest, who are the boys that can have this done in no time? And.....what is the total cost we are looking at to have it done??? like, an AL-IN figure.......

SUppose it would be brakes, suspension n allsorts to do eh!

Just wondering....... ;)

There only two epopel on the forum who've done it (although a lot have been done of the forum)
Matt Black and 16V_Jon have done the conversions. Matt sells all the bits for £1.5k+vat (thst bassically a whole front end trasnpalnt ie brakes suspension etc). Fitment then well Matt done it in 16hrs with a few little jobs like bleeding brakes left but then again he's doen a few by now. Jon spend a few days getting it all done but then a month getting to to work as he was using different bits .

Its not that dificult to do the bits just bolt together.I'd say £1k for the labout depends how keen the garage etc is to do the work.
K-tec were looking for someone car to do the work on as a learning experiance for £500 labout so they'd loose money but they'd pick up the skills needed. I'm not sure if they ever got a car to do the work on.

Unless you get the labout for free and want a bit of a challenge I wouldn't bother you can pick up Mk1 172's for £3k.

dont bother unless you can do the labour or get it done cheap, it will be more than £500 labour as the whole dash has to come out for starters , you can pick up mk 2 172's for £5k and Mk1 's for £3.5k

R30BC- In my opinion i would jus change your car.
Ive been in your place, had a 1.2 dynamique spent about 3k on it in modifications but the only thing that was lacking was the power.
I went back to my local renault garage to enquire about up grading then found out my monthly payments would go up by another £60 a month and insurance was another £120 for the year, plus out of it i got a good sound car with traction control, climate control and a nice bit of leather interior.
Trust me the upgrade is well worth it.
I know that i was told to put my car back to standard as good as possible which i done and that was it.
I did ask if it was worth doing an engine transplant and after all decided it was,nt worth the hassle- pm me if you got any more you,d like to know
James
