1.2 Engine to 1.?

Hi all, i thought id start this in a new thread as no one responed in the old one. Im thinking of changing the engine in my 1997 1.2 clio, but not sure which to change to. i'd like to keep the 1.2 box so i have alot of pull away power. Will the 1.2 jb3 gearbox fit on the side of the 1.8 16v engine? if it would, is it also possible to use the same driveshafts? and would the gearbox handle the power of the engine?

The gearbox will fit but wont last very long. Not sure about the drive shafts I would recommend using the 1.8 16v ones

Gearbox life is unknonw the ones which have been done like this have lasted agaes.
Might as well keep the 1.2 shafts. after all box will break first.
