1/4 mile times

  3 MPS

i was at crail raceway last week and got a best time of 14.6 , bog standard 172 cup. just wondering what times you folk get on the 1/4 mile?

i thought this was a really good time

BS me and Chris have similar mods and both run about the same times me at Crail him at York. They might be quicker than Pod times but not EVERY other strip.

Controversial! lol I have to say thought Ive never seen / heard standard Cups running 14.6 at Pod or even York...but there are a couple from Crail. Does Crail always have a tailwind?

Must admit most of the times posted from Crail are consistently quicker than most. Mind you, from the videos Ive seen Crail looks like a bit of a tin pot place!!

Sounds like you can go even quicker then mate a 2.4 60 ft isnt much cop, you wannna be in the 2.3s or 2.2s if possible. My valver has done a mailto:14.1@97mph">14.1@97mph so its certainly do able.

Santa Pod is crap for times compared with York. Never done Crail, but York is a quick track. No difficulty believing a 14.6 from a Cup on a good track. Nice going paul g!

The pecking order of respected venues to put in a quarter mile time are:

1. Santa Pod

2. York or Shakespeare County

3. North Weald or Crail

If you want a time that no-one will argue, do it at the Pod. Clock in at York or Shakespeare/Avon Park and someone will say they are quicker times than at Santa Pod. Most people will argue about Crail and North Weald times. Not necessarily my opinion, just what the situation is.

I personally think that York is faster for road cars on road tyres because of the better launch surface.
