1.6 Funny squeek

Newbie question!

Wonder if anyone could shed any light on a squeek my 1.6 has developed.

If sort of a low pitch (like a little horn type noise) squeek, it makes it occasionally when you pull away, sometimes when reversing, and will do it always if you are holding on a hill on clutch and let car roll back a bit, doesn't seem to be affecting anything...yet...my mate seems to think it may be a sticky caliper.

Just wondered if anybody could help so I can get it sorted under warranty before it runs out!

mine makes a bit of a squeeky noise sometimes when starting from cold. dunno what it is but does appear to be coming from the belt

let us know what renault say.......

Technician took car out with me in, and it made the noise loads! They suggested it was the rear brakes that needed cleaning, they cleaned them free of charge and it still made the noise, then they suggested it was the front discs and pads which were 95% worn and could replace them all in for £200, £200!! I took it to the garage we use at work for his opinion on the brakes and they did indeed need changing, but did it for £94 all in and the problem seems to have gone so far...i'll keep you posted.

So all in all renault seem to have found the problem but wanted mega bucks to cure it!! Can't compain though cos they have cleaned rear drums for free!
