1.6 Mk1 RT

Did they ever make a 1.6 Mk1 RT? Going to look at a clio 2moro which they said is exactly that =/.

Its a 1.4RT with a 1.6 8v Megane conversion done by HillPower.

Nah this is just a standard clio - got a feeling she has it wrong, must be either a 1.4 or a 1.8.

50,000 miles, alloys, metallic green :S - but! £450! Plus Im gonna get that price down.

Chances are its a 1.4.. 1.8RTs are all 5 doors I think and RARE.

Yours is a Phase3 tho..

Im not convinced a 1.4 is a step up really.. found my 1.2 DIET engine OK.
Itd be quicker, sure.. but not really a step.

The looks of the ph1/2 are so much better aswell though IMO.

Ph1/2 does look mint with 16v/Williams Bonnet, arches and bumper tho.. very aggressive!

Mk1 Phase3 were also voted most reliable Clio.. which is something..

Miss my 1.2 sometimes, hehe.

An extra 20bhp over the 1.2 will be nice for ya Im sure, if you can get a Mark 1 Phase 3 1.4 then get that cus its got nice bits and alloys/spoiler/nice seats from the RSi and a shorter ratio gearbox, 75bhp but quicker to 60 (ok, not so much quicker, like half a second but hey its something) than the phase 1 & phase 2 80bhp 1.4s... Its all very confusing but look for a 1.4 Maxim or 1.4 Sport made from like 1996 onwards

the 1.4RT performances are probably not very far off the mk2 1.6 with 90 hp...also worth considering is that the 1.4RT is one of the best clios ever made in terms of reliability...

the Mk1 1.6 done by hillpower in question is mine. as far as im aware there was only ever 2 of these done. but you cant get a Mk1 1.6 as standard.
