1.8 head on 2.0 block

What would the effects of putting the 1.8 16v head on to the 2.0 16v block be?

Would it go straight on? Would you need to modify the ecu?

what ecu? valver or Willy?

custom tunes on the engine always are better with custom maping to suit. I think HillPower can get your ecu maped for your setup. Give him a call.

The 1.8 head will fit straight on the 2.0 block. The only difference is 30mm somethings on the 1.8 head and 32mm somethings on the 2.0 head (inlet valves? injectors? - cant remember!). Anyway, most people use the 1.8 head and exhaust manifold.

inlet valves.

go for a supersprint exhaust manifold... I dont like the looks of the valver one. rust

And if you had this hybrid arrangement would you be okay keeping your 1.8 ecu or would you need it chipped/changed?

cheers for the replies
