10 & 12

Is there any benefit in mixing the sizes of subs in an install? What about a 10" for some punch and 12" for some low? Or 2x12" and a nice tight 8"?

Will the sq be messed up badly if you mix subs in the same boot? Not the same enclosure, of course!

not same amp either! generally the 12 will drown out the ten! it has been done but prob best to pair up either two tens or two 12s cos u know that they will ave equal output n roduce exactly da same sound n identicle texture! hope this helps

Thanks, I did wonder if the larger speaker would cancel the smaller one. Maybe stick a couple of 8s under the front seats then!

the 8" i currently have for sale will drop lower than many 10"ers on the market, yet still be extremely punchy, depending on how you set it up ;)

for arguments sake, a pair of 10"ers will produce as much volume as a single 12"er in the same product range

very pointless using two different sized subs though as the sounds usually negate any benefits you will see from one or the other
