106 GTi gone, new GTi in!!

Right, after the guy buying my gti turned up to collect and handed over the 3.1k cash. I then spent the whole night searching for a replacement for around 3.5k or less if I could. After getting very very stressed as I could not find a replacement I started having regrets on the sale.

Then I noticed this Gti 106 for sale in the local rag. So I went and had a butchers and got it for a brucey bargin.

Now this a on 56k with full FPSH, all loaded with extras, 99 S plate and got it from a middle aged lady who has been the only owner and had it from new. It is totally standard and in very good condition. Has the alcatara and leather.

It was up for £3150 which I thought was a bargin as the owners didnt seem to know its value, so I set off with some bargining and got it for the loverly sum of £2900!!!

Only needs a 60mm drop and a change of wheels and I will be happy

what u guys think?

yeah, slightly edited, lol.

I got it 2 and a bit weeks ago but then they day after I went on hol and only got back a few days ago, so am now loving driving the new GTI again

I would love a clio, if I could I would have a clio anyday but the 172 is a little out of my reach at the moment.

I also absolutly love the valvers, they really are my main love after owning my old one for 2yrs but they are just that little bit 2 old now as my old one needed money thrown at it and now with a mortgage and saving for a wedding I just aint got the same money to throw at the valver anymore.

Did you have a blue valver with big wheels on? And a big sunstrip? I seem to remember you having a valver or something similar a while ago, who did you sell it to? Because there is a car that is identical to yours driving around my part of Leicester by some guy.

Oh and the pug is very nice by the way. The times that two pug 106 gtis were putting in at pod today makes me think that if I didnt have a 172 Id have one of those!

Looks like a nice gti there

What exactly did they change on the face lift models and what year did that come in?

Cheers Tom

they came in on Sreg, the only differences are that the later ones have the leather interior & no side rub strips.

Nice motor mate, my bro is going to get one soon(ish)

cheers guys - The face lift just looses the bump strips and comes with leather seats, thas happened at some point on R plate.

Something about it is a lot nice than my last one, although my last one was mint and a brilliant drive this one seems a whole lot newer car. Just need it lowered asap
