10w40 semi synthetic engine oil

Got the wife some of this for her Lupo GTi - Any problems with me running it in the 172?

I've searched and found that 10w40 is fine, somewhat preferred for a 2003 172, however I seen no reference to semi synthetic.

its up to you, whatever you are happy with i guess, it think 5w40 is the preferred (fully synth) BUT its a can of worms and everyone has their own preferences.

If you have an abundance of it sitting there doing nothing and wanted to try it without shelling out £££ then if your happy - try it. If it was me I would find some 5w40 fully synth instead
