138mph claimed by renault....

renault claim the the cups top speed is 138mph! yeah right i got 145mph out of mine down the m1. mind u! i dont think ill be doing that again. if i had to brake or turn suddenly i was a gonna.

Ever heard of speedo error...

If its 138mph actual and 145mph indicated then thats an error of less than 5% and probably about right!

All manurfactures give derated figure or a new car. Mine supposedly does 100 flat out and 62 in 15 seconds

I have done 110(on the clock) more like 106 looking at the revs though

and independant test show 13.8 sec to 62

Manurfactures just give lower figures to ensure that any car however its treated can achieve them.

145mph though what were the revs at? must have been close to the limiter

I guess u tried it out on the same test track as me

it was running at about 6500 revs i think the limiter is set 7250 or somthing so i guss theres a little lift in the tank??

According to the renault website at 6500rpm u should hit 132.6mph

at 7250 that would be 147.9mph

I guess if u go half way between what ur revcouter and speedo says ur doing about 139mph

Has anyone every complained that there car wont hit its max speed at a dealership? I would be interested to here what they could do about it .

Anyone willing to lend me a 172 and gps to see how fast they really go??
