I got some 13 cm 100W pioneer speakers for my birthday from a friend. Will these fit anywhere in my Mk1 Clio or am I going to have to make somre pods. (I already have 6x9s in the parcel shelf)
Did the speakers come with grilles ? If so you can mount them in the doors, its will mean cutting the door card but its such a better option than 10cm speakers.
These are my components fitted to my old 1.2 RL, i had to run the speaker cable through the rubber grommet like shown. Well worth the effort and easily do-able.
Yeah it is supposed to be like that, there are metal mounting brackets behind the door card for speakers, its where they go on the RT/16v !! all you need to do is line up the mountings and cut the hole for the speaker then screw on !!
1) Unclip top half of door handle
2) unscrew door handle two screws
3) unscrew opening handle screw
4) unscrew door pocket 4 screws
5) unclip mirror cover
6) carefully peel the door card off the door, there are 4-6 clips which usually pop out (scaring me) and lots of door sealer which likes to pretend its a mixture of superglue and plasticine.
You have to prise the card up off the weatherseal at the top (this is where removing the mirror cover helps).
Thats it. All done apart from spending the next few days trying to remove the sealer from your arms without pulling all the hairs out. :-(
