Bought my 172 with 17x7 lightweight wheels and took them off as most people on here say its better on smaller wheels etc,
bought some ph2 172 16s and once fitted them, I don't like how the car drives/handles, it was much more planted and stable in the corners on the 17s and the 16s are about 1.5 times heavier. (rainsport 2s on 17s, P-zeros on 16s) feels twitchier rear and more oversteer now.
So i am going to go the lightweight 15s route, sold my 17s on ebay and the 16s will be on there soon.
My question is, the only wheels i've found that i like are 6.5" wide, seeing that the 172 comes with 7" wide as standard,
What negative effect is going to a narrower rim going to have? keeping it on a 195/50 tyre.
Or handling differences at least.
Thanks, Tom
