15k rpm SAS drive noise

Just got a brand new Dell server for development ... Its got a couple of 73Gb 15k SAS drives in. Now 1 drive on its own is louder than normal scsi drives but not massively. As soon as i setup a mirror on the C & E it sounds a LOT louder than normal!, obviously with both drives making the same amount of noise at the same time .... but the strange thing is, its only when installing something ??

Its the first Dell ive had with SAS drives and just wondering if this is a common characteristic ?

Just thought i would ask you guys before i give Dell a call.

15krpm drives are never listed as 'queit'

well they are noisy, however i've had a few which sound a bit louder than others, rang dell and they said that was fine....they are still going and haven't had any problems with them...
