16’s on mk1 1.4rt

Does anyone know if 16s on a standard 1.4 rt will cause the speedo to read incorrect??? ive heard it can happen!

Yes, it will happen on any car..

It will only happen if the outside diameter of the 16 inch wheels, including tyres is bigger than the standard wheels with tyres.

Bear in mind that 16s will scrub on a RT as well, unless youve got valver archs!

Use 7x16 with 195/40r16 and you should have ne probs with your speedo and arches....

16s on my MK1 Phse 3 1.4S, more or less the same as an RT, no scrubbin at all Its not lowered yet though. 195/45/16 Tyres ET37 offset wheels

cheers, i think im gonna go 4 16s on 195/40 tyres, doesnt effect the speedo much! if i went for 195/45 tyres it would mean the speedo would read 60 but id be doin 66!!! cant afford that!

Speiro arent mk1 clios ET 42 ?? thort 37 was mk2+ !!

My Mk1 Clio wheels are 36.. (Valver alloys)

They fill the arch a treat, but they do scrub on the back - wont for much longer.. they kind dont now after some work, bodyshop is finishing it tho and sealing it all.
