16" spare tyre on 17" set of alloys pass MOT?

My MOT is Monday, after changing a track rod end and having wheel alignment done my tyre bloke said the rear one will need doing soon,

Feck, put all my attention to getting a new set of tyres on the front and just glanced from standing distance at the rears, the drivers rear has worn on the inside, fairly badly, i think its a definate fail...

Anyway i was going to use my spare but all my alloys currently are 172 17"'s

Ive just thought my spare is a 16"

Thats a fail isnt it?

That means tomorrow morning ive got to lug my old 16" wheels to get them weighted up not even finished spraying them, been sat in the shed and then fit them

And my MOTs at 1pm

Why do you have to weight them for the MOT?

Just chuck them on, get it MOT'd and sort it out after.

its a FAIL!!

wheels and tyres have to be the same size across a single axle!!

so if you put both 16s on the rear, then thatll be fine! (providing theyre not buckled and the tyres have tread)

and theres nothing in the mot about them being weighted correctly.
just sling two legal wheels on the rear and sort it out later!

The spare tyre is not part of the MOT. There is no requirement for them.

And unless your old MOT expires tomorrow you will have the time left on your current one to get them sorted. Stick it through, if the wheels are the only fail, get the tyre sorted within 10 days and take it back for a retest.

i think hes refering to going to the MOT with his 16" spare wheel ON the car, among a set of 17" which is a definate fail!

Yes sorry fellas i ment 15" is the spare wheel, 16" are the 172 alloys, wasnt thinking straight

The problem is/was im running the 172 alloys and one of the rear ones is illegal, so i was thinking ill use the spare... cant its an inch smaller...

ive sprayed the other alloy that wasnt sprayed mainly because it just needed doing,

Yeah Daniel im either going to wake up and have them weighted again because they need doing or just chuck them on for mot un weighted, had to sort out some rubbing issues with undercoat or paint all gone now,

Ill put the dynamique alloys on soon...

My rear tyres are wearing pretty heavily on the inside, im only lowered on eibach pro kit, anyone else experienced this?
