16v gearbox - how much

I think my box has finally died, and am wanting to know what is the best thing to do...should i find a good s/hand one, or get mine reconditioned? Is it a good time to get a new clutch in there aswell?

Has anyone done this, and how much am i looking at spending?

i got a second hand box for £235 from a breakers at altrincham with 43k miles on it. and a new clutch from euro car parts for i think £90 it is the labour for sum1 fitting it that is the killer mate. cos they have to take the subframe off and everything.

I love my clio......until it goes wrong..........i think lotus had somthing to do with the design of the 1.8 16v clio !!!......LOTUS : Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious ! and bloody expensive !

I JUST DROPPED A 2.0 IN MINE ABOUT 2 MONTH AGO MY CLUTCH WENT LATER ON TOOK ME AND MY MATE 11 HOURS TO CHANGE CLUTCH WITHOUT LIFTING ENGINE EASIER TO LIFT ENGINE THOUGH BUT LONGER TO DO. LIFTED IT OUT AGAIN TWO WEEK AGO HAVING MY BOX REBUILT AT A COMPANY NEAR ME COSTING £320
