Whats Quicker a Phase 1 or a Phase 2 16v if there is 1

when did they stop phase 1s n start phase 2s

Neither is quicker than the other.. differences were cosmetic..

Change happened in 1994, with the change of reg from L to M I believe

phase 2 is a wee bit heavier due to safety measures but it isnt noticeable at all really.

Phase2 came in March 1992, so there are a good few Phase2 L reg 16Vs out there (I had one). The differences are cosmetic only on the 16V (inside and out). The Phase2 cars have more soundproofing, seatbelt pre-tensioners and side impact bars, with an airbag from about September 1994.

Also standard on Phase2 were re-trimmed 19 16V seats (previously only available in the Williams 1), an electric sliding sunroof and "softer" styling items (mirrors, bar grille, side strips, lights, rear strip, rear wiper, heater controls and dials).

lol, so im guessing that a pre 94 has no cat and there after it does,



they use the same leather in all there cars??

All have cats and all have the same leather (16v).

early 16vs didnt have Cats. theyl lbe the early J reg jobbies.had 140 brake standard ish as well because of the no cat thing.

All the 16vs for the UK had a cat, Engine code C57D
Some of the 16v on the continent didnt, Engine code C575.

J reg UK ones will pass an MOT without a cat though.

ah right, fair enough. i knew you could get early ones without cats didnt realise theyd be imports

Just look on the VIN plate and it will tell you if it came with a cat or not.
