16v Respray





na, Im board of it mate. There are loads of clios out there that are the same colour. I want somthing different.

Also as you probably know, the colour of mine and the black valvers are a nightmate to clean. They Show the dirt and you have to give them a bloody good clean to get them looking mint. If you just want to give it a quick wash it always shows smears etc. Other colours dont do this. These colours tend to be brighter moddener colours, like the saxo blue.

When the effort is put in on the clio then they do look superb!
 


In other words i am a lazy feck and want an easy colour to keep clean.

To be honest. I think my car is a nice mint looking example (when clean) but i dont clean it as much as i should and so it tends to look a bit tired and uncared for. This is not the case. If i get an easy colour then it will always look good.

My mate tends to give his saxo an hrs clean once a week and it always looks clean.
 


Get it done a Pearl White :D, I dont think theres many valvers around in that colour....if any

Get off ur ass and clean it! thats wat its there 4...mine gets cleaned 2wice a week!
 


I cant go for white as the cream leather will look horrid with white.

It seems that you lot dont think much to having it sprayed cup blue.

Back to the drawing board then!
 


No but it is sort of similar, people have asked when they have seen it!!! Just depends what light you catch it in to be honest!!

Or perhaps pink with pink metal flake!!
 


When i seen yours i thinkn it looks similar but is a bit deaper blue, maybe slightly darker.



What i like about the cup colour is it has a slight silver to the blue.

What about the Monaco blue on the 172? Would go for a slightly darker blue than on the cup personally, just get loads of gloss so its really shiny! Mitsubishi do the EVO VI in a nice dark blue, almost purple dark blue!

Think the cup colour stands out too much on the valver, looks to obvious a colour change. Your seats are gorgeous and the piping would go well with a dark colour IMHO!
 


Metal flake isnt expensive, it just goes in with the laquer, first show of the year is now going to be the french car show, had to pull out of Donny, but the GTT lump and screens etc will in for the french car show!!
 


couldnt get the time off work and the stand I was meant to be on messed me about a bit!! So its going on holiday soon and shall come back with a GTT lump in!!

Wouldnt have it any other colour apart from 449 sports blue or monaco. Monaco wuld look cool cos not many valvers in that colour. I think a cup blue would make people think it was a 16v lookalike maybe as they never came in that colour. My cars just gone for a few bits of paintwork mate. £600 for a respray. But i dont know if you know this but i u want a different colour your car is gonna have to be stripped to bits to get it painted as the paintwork inside the doors and inner sills etc, well anywhere you see the paint will have to be painted! Not an easy task. Also around your engines gonna be the wrong colour. That would bug me! If its tidy I would leave it mate, maaybe if it needs a bit of paint just get that done. You will only devalue it!

Im going for a slight colour change very soon, full respray in Monaco Blue instead of the original Sports Blue. The colour difference is only very slight and to the passer by, the two colours are the same. Only a true Clio dork would notice the difference, the Monaco is slightly brighter and less navy if you get what I mean. Also by keeping the colour almost identical I dont need to worry about the engine bay.

yeah, im going to do it.

I have a lot of contacts in the bodywork trade and so can get a full respray very cheap.

A good mate does bodywork in his spare time. He has created 2 Max Power feature cars for other mates and is pukka at his job. He is also dirt cheap. He has already done a little bodywork on my car (New Rear Arch). This cost me a little under a ton. All parts of the car are done except the engine bay. He sprays every part you can see in the bay thoung apart from the bulk head. I realy aint bothered though about the look of the bay though!
 


good lad ! :D should look mint, and we want pics when its done, you tempted to put renaltsport silver badges off a 172 on it or will you be going for a smoothed debadged and poss delocked look ?
 


it will be: de-locked, bump strips removed, new rear spoiler, phase 2 grill, Audi door handles, cool louvers on bonnet above indution kit and sideskits (same ones as Nevs)
