172 Alarm

Guys & Gyals I need your advice/help!

I was just curious about the 172 alarm. Is it Cat 1, what about the immobiliser? Another thing, it doesnt beep does it? How do you get round this problem, and can you?

On my old 1.2 2002 Clio I had a cobra Cat 1 alarm fitted and it did the job perfectly, will there be need on the 172 to get a new alarm fitted.

Both are CAT1 but it doesnt bleep. only when a door/bonnet is open.

I bought a 2002 172 a couple of weeks ago now and it was fitted with the same alarm as was fitted to the 182 I test drove on the weekend so it must be the standard Renault alarm even though my 172 was an import which shouldnt come with that alarm as standard, I am not complaining anyway !

It does NOT beep when you press the key fob to lock/unlock the doors.

Standard alarm is Cobra on 172 ... it is a cat one but no way to get the beeps!

I mite aswell go to cobra and get one fitted. I hope that they can fit one 4 me using the same key for opening my doors originally.
