172 cutting out

Hello, wonder if anybody can help please? my 172 keeps cutting out when driving and it won't restart. However, if I leave it 10 minutes or so, it starts first time and runs fine. It'll then be fine for a week or so, starting first time, etc, until it happens again. Called the AA and they did a diagnostics, but couldn't find any faults. Replaced the battery about a month ago because it was dead so can't be that. Any ideas? Thank you!

i say its the crank sensor, mine had exactly the same problem. mine cut out on the m-way!
