172 Gaitor pic???

I got my 172 with B&M short shift already on. The gear stick gaitor is a bit loose after removed. I want to change it due to a little bit of damage.

I heard that the new one comes with an integral frame. It has a cable tie to hold it in place around the stick, and then clip the new one in to the plastic base.

What does the cable look like??? It is just a string?? Can someone pop their gaitor out and show me. I really want to buy a new one. But would like to check and see if they work well with B&M.

THANKS!!!

  RS 182 - Black Gold
its just a zip tie.

Very easy to install.

For my B&M, i baught myself a MOMO gaitor then used the origional base.
the momo one is shorter so managed to attatch it to the base of the origional and use that.

Otherwise the origional is waaay to big on the B&M

Re your avatar...what's a Lutecia?

I've done a search and appears an alternate name for a Clio? I would have thought the name Clio would be universal no matter of the country.

Lutecia is the name Japanese use for Clio. Same as Thailia in Poland I think. But I think only Japan use Lutecia. I was very happy to find one when I visit Japan last year.

Do you have a pic of your gaitor??? How you attach the gaitor to the original base??

And yes, I think the original one is too big. I am actually thinking if my gaitor is original cos it looked modified.

Ah! As much as I don't mind Clio, it sounds a bit girly. Lutecia sounds a bit more exotic. A bit like Pulsar as opposed to Sunny.

I really have no idea what it means. But I like to be different from other. That is why I paid a lot for just one badge. I am sure the Japanese just come up with whatever they can think of because I knew the badge should not cost that much. But glad that they don;t have them in stock and they cannot ordered on time, so they just remove the one from their showroom car and gave me 50% discount. But still expensive - approx. 17.00ukp!!!

Ill get u pics later.

The gaitor is only attached by staples/pinned to the plastic

nothign special! so i just undone those and re-attatched with my gaitor (shorter)

its a time consuming task and gotta be patient with it, or it just ends up cack! and out of place heheh

I found mine are not stapled on. It is sewed on. Well, thanks and look forward to see the pic from you.
