172 gear box

hi the gear box on my 52 reg clio sport 172 cup has gone. does any1 no if a clio 2002 sport 172 box will fit. plz let me no a s a p thanks anth

For a cup you'll need a cup box or a phase 1 box as they have a speedo output, the others use the abs sensor which you don't have.

Possibly a rebuild might be the best option.

There's a cup being broken on here at the moment, but you'll need to join to get into the sales section.
failing that, ebay or breakers yards, but you can't be sure it wont need replacing in another 5k

Also box's from first PH2 172 would fit as they read speed from the box too.

I think we have a box from a ph1,just been completely rebuilt by our gearbox man,it was going in the race car but we are thinking of something else now.
Ask Burp on here he knows all the details and tech stuff.

Better off getting a rebuild or buying a box thats just had a rebuild.

Price difference is just about the same
