172 gear change!!! Nafffff!!!

I need a B&M! It's clumsy, difficult, i neva miss gears in Race cars or road cars for this matter. I jus find it dead nafff! lol. Anyone else vaguely argee with me? Prob not.

Although the throw does seem quite long at times.

err mine was but ive had them aligned better an they go in easy (although still notchy vertainly nowhere near as slick as a vag car). the throw is quite long also.

try the new shortshifter from BBPT thats specifically made for the 172/182 its strong and doesnt shorten the actual gear stick so you can reach it still unlike b&M which is a bit too stubby and someone`s even snapped on here (jneds i think)

Mines is a bit sticky when cold and so is the gear change.

Whenever changing from 3 to 4 or vice versa I've got to be careful as it's not a straightline shift.

Scott you don't drive ur 172, you comute in ur 172...There's a subtle difference.

Agree with the diagram. I haven't had any real problems with the gear change, but have certainly felt a slight kink from 3rd to 4th...

I do have a problem with it.

My VTR was much worse. Always missing gears.
