172 H/U Security code

Hi,

I cant locate my Security code for my 172 stereo. How much do Reno charge for the code? I am selling my 172 next week so I need the code urgent, will they give me the code then and there once I pay them the cash??

Well last time they said they were gonna charge me £10 or something.. but when I went to get it they said just forget it (the money not the code duh !)

So if your lucky they will give you it for nowt ! and yes you should get it there and then as it only takes them 2 seconds to look it up on their computer.. make sure you take documents to prove the car is yours !

I would not hand over any money for a code which surely you are entitled to. It is a piece of information which is necessary to the proper functionioning of the car. Youll need it if the fuse for the radio blows, not just if youve been tinkering with the headunit. I went to the dealership here in Australia and there was no question of paying for the 30seconds it took them to look it up on the database.

Just give renault uk a ring and tell then your vin number and they will give u your code for your stereo and they dont charge but a dealer will charge u 10 quid.
