172 (hopefully) young driver, and insurance!

Right, going to turn 19 in april, and shortly after that will have 2 years no claims under me belt Started saving like hell now, and this summer hopefully i am going to buy a 172 (not the cup, because i no insurance company's wont touch me on that!) The best quote i have had so far was a little over 2k, considering i live in a fairly good area, car will be garaged, and will do about 10 000 miles a year, what do you think a good insurance quote would be? And what company's do i need to be looking at, is anyone else of smiler age in same situation?

about 1.5k would be a good quote at 19 i should imagine. I'm paying 1.3k at 21 with 0NCB on a ph1 so an older car. Admiral are good if you put your mum dad or someone with a lot of no claims on the policy, and virgin are also meant to be quite good for some people. Greenlight are also very good but not sure if they'll cover u at 19 or not

2300 with admiral, lowest i have got is still just over 2k with high performance or somet, saw them advertised on tv, only thing is when i put the quote in, wish i put me mates phone number in or something! because loads of people are phoning me!

Im with Frizzels, only as that is who my dad has been with for his car, home and holiday. Anyway, my new policy is 1400 a year with 1 years no claims bonus, and also 1 years driving experience on the family pug gti180. Im only 18 and been on the road for 18months. I find that ringing the companies up is often better than the internet qouting rubbish, they dont take into account important things. for example, with confused.com i put my details in as 1 ncb on a 1.6 106gti and my best qoute (only got 2) was near on 3K. the other was more than i could count!! nearer 4K. I also got a number of annoying phone calls asking if i am serious about insuring the car.

So my advice is ring the companies and talk the price down, tell them you have had a better offer, they want you more than you want them, more companies out there! Adrian Flux is a good one 2

Wait a few more years mate, 2k is alot of money on insurance.

Whats the excess on that?

I was 21, 2NCB, with no fault accidents and a Ban and mine was £900ish.
I really wanted a 172 when i was 19, but I waited and saved the money.

Im 20 got a 172 cup (53 plate) got 1 years ncb, own my own home and have my misses on the insurance and its about 1k
