I have just got my 172 this week and i am really pleased with it. Just a quick question is the idle meant to be a bit lumpy its not really bad but doesnt idle quite as it should, now it has got a big non-standard air filter would this be causing the problem ?
My 182Cup does it. They all seem to do it. Some say its better with Optimax but Im not so sure anymore, as mine idles like sl*g all the time now, and misfires when its cold.
so changing the air filter from the one thats on back to the original air box wont make a difference? , i must admit it isnt bad its only a bit but its worse when its cold. I am running it on Optimax
I have been told Optimax is better for the car and also gives me a few extra miles, whether that is true i dont know but the people that tole me to use it use it themselves
my girlfirends 1.2 extreme does this... we even took it ro rno. They said it was a common fault with clios, and reprogrammed the engine management system, and has been perfect ever since. sits at 400rpm without any movement.
My 172cup has never had this problem... sits at about 550rpm no prob.
Is it and Induction kit vicky or just a filter element??? If its and induction kit I get rid and just a a panel filter from ITG. As, unless you do serious tuning from what Ive read a panel filter is better than an induction kit on a standard engine.
my 172 clio cup does this espicially when you start it from cold when it warms up it goes away. I run mine on optimax beter to be safe than sorry as it has same power as civic type r have beaten 2 in burn up now. The owners are in shock when i out accelerate them.
