172 knocking on full lock

this usually seems to happen at low speeds when doing a u-turn or similar, anyone got any ideas as to whether this is a problem that needs attention or if its something harmless??

Sure its not just your powersteering, do you mean Very low speeds ie 5mph or faster?

I had exactly the same problem on my mk2 172. Took the dealer a while to fix it, but they narrowed it down to driveshafts I think.

Get it into your dealer, and if they have any problems I can let you have the number of the dealer that fixed mine and they may be able to shed some light to your dealer.

Mine squeaks on full lock...got a feeling its the suspension cos it happens when the wheel moves up and down, but only on full lock...weird...maybe something is rubbing on something else

Mine knocks on full lock right turn. No idea what it is.

so does mine

i also knocks on fulllock, more so when turning into a left hand bend
also at low speed
