Hi Everyone, Having some troubles with my 172 and wondered if anyone might have any ideas.
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve experienced some considerable power loss. I first noticed it when I had a few people in the car and it really struggled to make it up a hill and then later struggled getting to 80. Now there just doesn’t seem to be any go. Around town in rush hour and such its not really noticeable but stick my foot down on a nice open road and not a lot happens. I’ve noticed that when I reach about 5-5.5k revs it seems to top out as if I’m hitting the rev limiter it does this in 2nd and 3rd.
It doesn’t appear to be over heating, sounds fine and I guess the fuel consumption is average at 32mpg. I’m thinking it must be some sort of sensor messing with the mix of fuel and air.
Any thoughts….?
