172 Learners

Just been to work in a different store than usual. My mate who lives in this area has always told me that there is a driving school with a red 172. But i have always thought he was widing me up... Until today. Seen it, the schools called No Limits. lol. Not sure it would be the most easy car to learn in, but would be rather cool. Not sure I would have the nerves to let new learners in my pride and joy. Got to be the fatest learners car ive seen.

I was teaching my GF to drive in my 172 (£7 for a weeks insurance.. result !)

She found it really easy to drive, mainly because the car is quite controlable when you keep it under 4k rpm.. which she did.

And its harder to stall cause its a bigger engine, of course deisles are ideal for being hard to stall.

I agree, except the clutch which is quite stiff and a little vicous to say the least.

Tried teaching my gf in the 172 and she couldnt control the clutch on pull off, it was just too heavy. once she got going though it was scary

Lol had exactley same with one of my exs. She had passed her test for a few years, not a bad driver but she took three attempts to get it of the mark. Was funny sitting in the passenger seat.

how come everyone says the clutch is heavy ? wussies.. try driving a 205 GTi with dried out clutch cable and a super heavy clutch, couldnt hold it down for more than 5 seconds at lights cause the ball of your foot got to sore.. thats heavy !

The 172 feels like you arent pressing anything (until I got a 1.2 clio loan car then going back into the 172 it felt really heavy again)

diamond drive in romford used to have a red valver:D, blo*dy sweet and an imperial blue escort convertible

Us regular 172bhp poking device drivers are used to the clutch so it dont feel heavy but then other peeps who drive anything other than a sports model think the clutch is very heavy

My first impression of the clutch compared to that of the 1.4 16V Clio was that it worked like an on off switch.

At least I didnt stall it on the test drive which the dealer admited doing a few times
