It's defintely been done before, but I would think you would be as well going with a williams conversion TBH. You can get good power out of a williams if they are tuned and the engine drops straight into a valver IIRC.

There was pics of a foreign white 16v with it done and Nick Hill is doing one too.

Stick with the williams/megane lump tho...less hassle, cheaper...

As above, and has been proved mk1 cars and engines are faster...plus there is no need to tell the insurance with a f7r engine

williams lump would be much easier and cheaper, dont think u will get any extra benfit from a 172 lump over the williams
