I was getting between 35 and 37 mpg until the clocks went back. Since the ambient temp has dropped, I haven't been above 28mpg.

I can't complain though as she's been shifting like a rat up a drain pipe.

40mpg without trying...

can be as low as 20 when im pissed off, and has high as 47 when im travelling on work duties and they're paying me 35p a mile! :)

When i first fill up with petrol and reset the fuel computer it adjusts (mpg etc) really quickly with the slightest increase in throttle, after a day or so though you can be giving it some lead foot and it stills shows almost the same mpg as when you are driving like a granny.

Is this normal or is something wrong :S

  Clio T 314hp c43 AMG
24-26 around town around 37-39 on motorway
ik
de-cat

That is because that is your average mpg mate, as you do more miles it takes more to sway your average.

The guys getting 40+, how do you drive? What rpm are you changing at etc - would love to get more but seems impossible to keep in the 30 zone!

usually change gear around 4k in town, and cruise at 80ish mph in 5th on the motorway.

easy to get the thing to average high 30's for a whole tank with just town driving.

  Clio II/II 1.2 16V
I can't believe it!!
I have a Clio 1.2 16V with 17" alloys and my f/c at 38mpg!
Don't get much fun, and hurts my pocket... :(

My 1.2 was never any good either...

Get 40mpg with a mixture of b-road blatting and granny motorway driving. Can get up to 45mpg no problems!

  Leon Cupra 300

30+ around town?

40+ on a run?

Does anyone else think that these are really fine figures considering the performance of our cars and the manner that they beg to be driven?

  1.6 Astra ... R.I.P. 182
im usually about the 27 mark but do little motorway driving and when i do its short and so gunned somewhat.
main driving is down side n back roads or town.
