172 ph1 judder at low revs

hi all
new to this forum and thought you might be able to help me with a problem ive got with my ph1 172.

for the last month or so it started to have a problem where when it starts to get warm, and your in low revs up to 2k approx it will judder.the hotter the car gets the worse it gets aswell.
its more when your gently on the throttle if you go past 2k its fine feels like a 172 should but soon as the revs drop below 2k ish in any gear it will judder and some time stalls when slowing down.
the idle is up and down and very very lumpy.
when you hold the revs low u can hear its not right aswell.

i have taken it to a garage (cit-ren) where they have loads of 2nd hand bits and they know alot about 172s. and they spent the day changing every sensor and bits they could think of and still no luck.
no fault codes aswell.
the only thing they said it might be is the car has done nearly 60k and 11 years old and never a belt change, and maybe its started to strech and put the timing out very slighty????
but i cant see how it could be that, as the hotter it gets the worse it gets.
they also said it could be the phaser pully ?????

i have put new plugs in aswell and still the same.
had 3 different coil packs put on ,checked leads etc etc.

its got to the stage now where i havent a clue where to go next with it.

hopefully one of you chaps might of had the same problem.

many thanks

kevin

Honestly I would start with getting the belts sorted, then go from there, could be lambda issue if that has not been tried?

Where are you located, i'd get it to a local specialist and get them to have a look.

it sounds to me that the throttle body needs cleaning you may have grit in it so the butterfly wont open or close fully..i had the same problem with my old 172
