Well the 172 will be much faster and handle better. 172's MPG is not bad... probably no worse or not much worse than a C2 VTS
I would have thought the 172 would wipe the floor, the VTS has 123bhp and 1083kg, giving it just 113bhp per tonne.
The 172 has 169bhp and 1050kg giving that a much better 160bhp per tonne.

Id go for the 172.

C2 VTS is only insurance group 8.
They aren't really comparable.

C2 has 125bhp but we'll let you off. :rasp:

Sidetracking a bit guys but thanks for the figures. Not too bothered about the speed as long as my new car will be fairly quick. Just wanted to see how people compared the car's as a whole e.g looks, extras? I know its only a very minor thing, but thing that was putting me off the C2....where would I put my infinity 6x9s!lol

Performance wise they are not comparable, the 172 is a fast little car where as the C2 is gonna be nippy.
The 172 has loads of features but I don't know if the C2 matches that.
Depending on how much you drive you won't find the 172 too bad to run. I used to cover about 150-200 miles per week in mine and it used to cost me £25 a week. That was accross town with a mixture of putting my foot down and normal driving.

Yep, I've got a C2 VTS. Basically costs about £800 pa less to run than my old 182. It's obv not as quick, but they are very tuneable. Some lads have got C2's running around with 160-170bhp with basic mods. I'm keeping my C2 for a while, I was thinking of getting a 172 but the running cost are just too much for the thrills you get.
