Quick question (stupid one!) Just want to be sure as want to order tyres now and cant get down to the motor!, 172 turni's are 195/45/16, Correct?

Your 172 doesn't come with 15" wheels mate. standard they are 16" and AFAIK 195 width is the std one for a 172

doesn't matter if its 205 or 195 really mate. 195's are just thinner...

My point about the R rating is surely it's wrong (R = max 106 mph)?

No Fella you're looking at the wrong bit...... R16 is the Diameter of the 16" Wheel

205's will go on no problem at all

205 - Width
45 Tyre Height so to speak

R16 - Wheel Diameter

then usually I think its a V Rated Tyre you want I think

Yeh i think the R is just refering to the radial circumfrance (EG wheel size). Speed rating is usually right at the end...

My PE2's have a speed rating of V i think.

You are fine to put 205's on the std 172 wheels aswell
