172 won't start!

good evening!
first of all some stats - i have the car(172 phase1) for about a month now, it has done 185K km (115,000 miles+-) but has been very looked after.
today i went for a drive, pulled over at a petrol station for some petrol and when i was done - the car wouldn't start! the starter was spinning, everything seemed to be working, the immobilizer light went off like it should - but the car just wouldn't start.
i have tried everything including disconnecting the battery for 10minutes, and after about an hour of fidling, i disconnected the battery for 10 more minutes.
the i tried again, and still nothing, so i decided to try one last time, this time i depressed the brake pedal - and bang! it started!
being brave, i decided that i want to make sure it wasn't the brake pedal - so i switched it off, and started it without touching anything - and it worked.
an hour later i needed the car again - and it didn't start!, got out, locked it, waited a minute, and tried again and it worked.
what the f*ck is wrong with it?!

I have a ph2 172 and mine was doing same. Was tdc sensor on mine. Started when it wanted, didn't when it didn't want to. Cost 65 for part I think but mine needed a new wiring loom.
