I recently bought a black 53 172. Have got about a £1500 to play with on the engine any ideas on induction, manifold, stealth exhaust and remap. I dont want anything to loud.

inlet, manifold and cam package is £1550 and depending on your engine will take you to just under, just over 200bhp. Well worth it!

that sounds pretty spot on - what differecne would 28 bhp make to 0-60 tops speed times?

will probably be in the low to mid 5's, Chris' cup was diong mid 5's with around 195-200bhp (without cams, but his is a quickun). Mainly it will be mid range where you notice the power increase and it will be fairly relentless to the limiter in every gear
