Bloody fantastic work Ginger, I must say though, it pisses me off no end that you don't take "before's".

Go and buy a cheap digi cam from ASDA, leave it in the workshop and just take before's and afters of anything that comes in.

It frustrating, because before and afters on that could be a great front page piece for a simple website for yourself. "Thinking of selling your tired old van, have it transformed pre-sale to get the best possible price".

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I'm viewing one of these tomorrow, 55plate, 99k miles. Anything to look out for?

Cambelt history (72k 5yr) and make sure the gear box changes gear smoothly and easily from stone cold. If you get there and it's been warmed up, be very wary.
Gearboxes are proper common and very costly to fix by the time you've had it refurbed and a new clutch fitted.

Also make sure all the panels are the same colour. Because of the amount of lines on the van no blending is usually done for panel repairs.

Service history is key to longevity on these though, make sure it's had proper oil all it's life.

Drivers seat is usually fucked by 50k so don't worry if it is.

Lots of people from the 'travelling community' like to clock them too so make sure vosa/service history ties up.

Injectors and fuel pump are common failures and will write the van off too so make sure it starts properly from hot and cold and make sure the EML is still fitted. And working properly!

Hmmm, as you need before and after photos, perhaps I should drive down and you should do "130,000 mile BMW Z4" and I'll bring the camera ;)

You need a simple website with just four pages or so, and maybe a little bound brochure to keep on site to show customers or even give a few out.

Not half as clean as yours, but for the money I paid I'm happy.

Serviced the old girl at the weekend!
I'm becoming quote attached to it. It's amazing on fuel for a start and so comfy to drive!
Did oil, oil filter, air filter and a fuel filter. New set of plates and swapped wheels front to back. Bish bash bosh.

(This air filter was changed 10,000 miles ago and they recommend every 20,000!)

Corrected for you Rob ;)

Cracking work there Dan. You mentioned earlier about leaves and other debris causing water ingress issues when trapped in the cills. Makes my piss boil that. I don't go as mad as cleaning the cills with cotton buds and stuff - but everytime I pop the bonnet for topping up the washer bottle/checking oil, etc - any leaves trapped, quickly get thrown out.

Takes two seconds and can potentially stop a world of pain and hassle.

As others - get those bloody before pics on! :)

D.
