17cm components in mk2 (hidden)

Anyone got pics of 17cm components hidden in the front door cards as i want to do it but i wanted to keep them hidden from view if possible.

So how do you fit them in? some sort of adapter or modded door cards? Is it worth doing? i just thought it will give me better mid-range

spirez - how brave are you???

basically take 1 jigsaw with metal cutting blade and proceed to remove parts of the door that get in the way, then fit the speakers

its the only way

and also watch the depth of your new speaker, im almost certain it will be too big, the only ones ive managed to get to fit were kenwood dual-mags and they sound shyte

i was looking at the alpine type-r components, they have a mounting depth of 70mm but im not sure what i could get away with. Tom what do you have in yours?

i had to cut the door trims, plastic was a right bast**d to cut. the depth of mine was around 7 or so cm and was fine, about 1cm gap for the window to go down. just watch what you are cutting on the plastic, cos the grill needs to clip back on.

Cant u just get really really good 13cm ones? Much easier. Mine cost nearly £300 but worth every penny.
