17s catching the arches!

I have just put some 17s on my clio172 ph2 and its lowered 40mm and its catching really bad. I have sorted the front out by modded the arch liners but has anybody got advice on the rear arches. Anybody tried bashing the arch lip in? Oh yeah wheels are et37.

thats your only way around it or cutting a section out of the arches - I had the same problem so now have et42 wheels and no rubbing
