17's on a MK1, back wheels rubbing BADLY! HELP!

Some of you may have noticed that I have been trying to sell my 17's but to be honest I really dont want to! The only reason I have is that they rub too much.

The car has been lowered about 35mm or so at the back but i cant put anyone in the back. Anyone know how this can be fixed without rasing the car as I like it the way it is.

You could always get your arches rolled. i got my front ones done as the caught, alot!

the back of mine is dropped around 90 mm, on 18"s and no problem, i take it you dont have a valver?, the other option apart from rolling arches is to get different tyres fitted which are thinner, other than that, strip it out.

what exactly is meant by rolling the arches? i am hoping to get 17's on my clio mk1 but i'm not sure what is needed.

basically, take it to a wheel dealers etc, and they sometimes no always, have a arch rolling machine, basically, it flattens the wheel arch. if you feel it it has a lip on it and this is what catches, by rolling this flat, it takes that away, and no more rubbing. hopefully!

Do the job yourself - buy a panel beating hammer kit and carefully tap the lip round.

So when u get the arches rolled all they do is bend the lip around? the one around the top of the wheel arch i take it? Could just do that myself I suppose, prefere trying things myself first. No its just a 1.2 lol

deemon tweeks will do them for you for £35 a arch i got mine done they are spot on they also flar the arch abit when they do it

i have 17's on a 55 mm drop and no problem at all, even with people in the back. i just cut back all the lips and leading edges of the bumpers and a fair bit of the rear bumper brakets, i have standard bumpers too, did the same on the front, i also chose tyres that have a sloping sidewall (curve in more than others) bit s**t but there called maxis MA-V1's i think, mines a 1.2 aswell.

If the wheels are the wrong offset your going to be fighting a harder battle to solve the rubbing problem, you know what offset the wheels are?
