182, 12,000mile service, I just saved £70!!!

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to the forum!

My 182 is booked in for its first 12,000 mile service on Monday at Bridges in Reading. They had quoted me £270 last week when i booked it in. I checked prices for services on this site today and found out that £270 is totally over the top. So I called a few other dealers and found that most renault places charged £200ish (inc VAT , Parts, Labour).

So I called Bridges back and asked "why are you so expensive?" they explained that "erm, well sir.... owing to our central location.... erm.... and er.... our hourly rate is £75...... erm..... so thats why we are £270. "

I told them Id like to cancel, they asked me to hold and then came back and said "we have squeezed some prices and we can match the £200 price that you have been quoted".


SOOOOO CHEEEEEEKY!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR

anyway, that was it, big thank you to everyone for helping me save valuable cash, have a great weekend,

so oil change + filter, air filter and pollen filter, parts = about £50 ish, so that makes the labour £150 plus?!

what a rip off, even i can do all that in about an hour or two!
