182 12k service - is this correct?

Had my 54 plate 182 serviced yesterday, done 10,600 miles, was quoted £161.99 inc vat for the service which was told included oil, oil filter, pollen filter and full service check.

Dropped car off and picked up a few hours later and was told price was £194.79

invoice quotes as follows

Anyone able to work out other than the screen wash and washer what was not included in service? I thought they had to call you if other works were needed??

whats the filter at the bottom (£13.64) as this as needed as yours is a 54 plate air filter is not done at 12k

On sheet mate it just says filter with no other details than the numbers

If they quoted you a price they have to stick to it, did they go though the invoice with you? funny that it just says filter if yours is a late 2004 model 12k service is oil oil filter washer and pollen filter.

Tbh was just relived didnt get hit for a few hundred for tyres etc but they did go through it but at the time i guess couldnt be arsed to ask, just now a tad confused, yes its only like £30 or so but still just cant work out how they have priced job out as looks like 3 filters or is a filter cabin a holder?

filter cabin is a cabin/pollen filter mate is the end one i reckon is a air filter that wasnt needed and they stuck some more labour on for changing it say the rate was £70 an hour they charged you 0.2 hours labour works out about £14 a long with your filter and VAT you have your £30

cheers mate, why would they change it if it wasnt needed? this is the same dealer who charged my old boy for parts which were covered by warranty on a 6 month old car and then when manufacturer got involved went oh sorry was a mistake

simple answer is if the parts are what you call pre picked because parts are so dumb they will pull anything in there cos they car not be bothered to look at a poster telling you what it needs they put anything in there as they base it on older 172 service posters which said replace air filter. if its in the box they will bill you for it unless you know the inns and outs.

Just £1.42 for the screenwash, the cheeky fookers charged me nearly £3.00, and I only filled it up myself a couple of weeks ago!!

I've just been quoted £197 for my 12k service. I'll be waiting for them to ring up saying it needs other stuff doing. I've never delt with renault before having always had peugeots. Fingers crossed they look after it as well while it's in there...

my guess is they quoted you for the 12k service for the non-sport clio, beacuse thats what they did with me - the oil is £20 more

Was whingeing elsewhere that we have to get out our Clio Sports serviced twice as often here in Australia.

But bizarrely each ordinary service (ie, excluding belt changes) involves pretty much the same things being done as each of your services, but only costs half as much. I've never paid more than $A200 - about 80 pounds - for a service.
