I was the same when I first got my 182 (was a 54 plate as well), they are mega stiff (i know what your all thinking) but you get use to it. I had a company car for a week then got back into my 182 and thought something was wrong then within a few days was use to it again. Was exactly the same when I bought a 172 as well.

Might find this useful

Mine is fine but I have sat in a Ph1 172 and a Trophy - both theirs were major muscle toning machines lol

YES - I admit it, we were comparing clutches at a CS meet

Cheers for the reply lads/lasses put my mind a rest a bit thanks. another quicky is it normal for when the service light is on for the esp and abs light to be on to ? wondered if thesewil go off when the service indicators reset ?

Lol, drive a R5 GTT with an uprated clutch if you want to feel a stiff clutch pedal!

Damn kids, you dont know how easy you have it! 182 clutch is like stepping on a pillow.

Get someone with a fault code reader to clear them - a good mechanic rather than the dealers
- they will cost you a leg, then you won't even reach your clutch!

yeah ok cheers wont be out major i wouldnt of thought ?

Had those lights come on in both my 172 & 182, was told that it can be to do with a wire under the passenger seat so I never worried about it and they always tend to go out after a day or two (maybe not the best attitude to take though).......you may want to get it checked out just in case, as said above though try and avoid renault dealers, they will try and make it a major job, look for a renault specialist that has had good reviews in here.............

Hi i have a '04 182,and my problem is:when i engage the clutch pedal, the pedal sometimes reset herself. That's why i replace my pedal a brand new and a new cable.the clutch set(new Valeo) and shall continue this fault.and i don't know why...The gear change is ok,if i changed quickly.

Any idea??
