182 Decat Light, can it be turned off?

  K20 EG Hatch
Got a yozzasport decat, after 1k miles the light has finally come on. Can it be turned off?

Cheers

Yeah.

Put the cat back on.

Seriously apart from using the renault clip to clear the fault each week I'd say no.

i have a solution i've been working on, but i've been too busy to finish it (electronic tomfoolery dongle)

interesting, i am fitting mine on saturday, see if i can get away with it or not!

Dan-does the de cat make a difference in noise with the standard system?

yeah it does, IMO sounds a lil deeper and tinnier in a funny way, deffinately a nicer exhaust note.

Take dash top off, remove instrument panel, strip dowm and remove led.
Thats what I'm doing on mine have got more than one light on anyway.
Have engine management light, service light, esp light one and emission light so thats what i'm doing.

i have a transformer feeding a variable voltage depending on the output voltage of the first sensor between 0.5 and 1 volts its a pikey solution but its kept the light off now for 2 months

When I de-cated my Civic type R I found it ran too rich and using more fuel as well. I know you can get an O2 sim for it can it be done on the clio's?
Before anyone gets smart , it's not a phone sim card you put on ;)

That's not a bad idea

My emissions light has been on for a month or so and TBH I have got used to it but if I came to sell the car I'd like it to be off/not visible.

My decatted Yozza system has been fitted for about 1 and a half weeks now and no light - but Ive only done about 200 miles.

I cant get the airbag light to go out from the steering wheel - so might disable the lights from the panel.

I tried to stick resisitors in here:-

but that didnt disable the lights... I am told there is another connector that you plug the resistors into....

oh and because you've changed the seats that'll cause the light to be on also, are your std seat belt pretensioners still in??

I must be lucky then, I've done 7-8,000 miles since my decat was put on, and my dash light's still not lit.

I think it was Fred who said that it seems there are a few 172 Cups where they just don't come on. Only 172 Cups, and no idea why though.

Here's a guide to the cheap way of getting shot of the light.

1 - take dash top of and instrument panel out

2 - Take the rev counter needle off or very gently pull apart till it pops off at the engine light end (below picture shows the LED responsible)

3 - turn over and stick tape on here, the tube where the LED sits into.

like this

4 - Put back together and screw the dash top back down and hey presto light out :)
