182 Gearbox leak

So I’ve finally got around to fitting gearbox and filled with gear oil came back to the car after a few days it’s leaking from the gear casing. Looks like from around the bolt area?

Coming from that black cover? That's the 5th gear cover.

Could reseal it, but you'll need to drain the oil again first.

Yes looks to be From the bolt area. Is the cover pretty easy to remove? Will I have to take the box out to do ?

Yeah just a couple of bolts from memory. Can do it in place.

No need to seal it, there is a big rubber O-ring doing the sealing, maybe just renew that?
Oh and DONT TOUCH THE FORK!

Been 3/4 weeks.no leaks yet...?

It’s only had oil in for couple days it’s not moved an inch as it’s was engine out job new turbo conversion one in so didn’t fill till needed

It will, if it's been off unless it's a new cover and seal AND you're very lucky it will leak...

old cover, new seal.
was meticulous about cleaning the mating surfaces though, even sanded the cover on a glass plate.
